About Us

About Nava Nandagrama Vedic Village

Nestled in the serene landscapes of Narmada district, Gujarat, just 10 km from the world's tallest statue, the Statue of Unity, Nava Nandagrama Vedic Village is a thriving farm community dedicated to preserving and practicing the timeless wisdom of Vedic culture. Spanning over 40 acres, with 8 acres exclusively allocated for cow grazing fields, Nava Nandagrama was established in 2011 under the aegis of the BHAGAVAT SHIKSHAN EVAM GAURAKSHA TRUST (BGST). Inspired by the teachings of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada and guided by His Holiness Bhakti Vikasa Swami Maharaj, this community is a role model for sustainable, self-sufficient, and spiritually enriched living.

Way of Life

A Holistic and Sustainable Way of Life

At Nava Nandagrama, we embrace a simple, natural, traditional, and dharmic way of life, deeply rooted in Vedic traditions. Our self-sustaining community of approximately 80 dedicated residents follows the principle of "simple living and high thinking," prioritizing spiritual upliftment, eco-friendly living, and self-reliance. By adhering to the wisdom of the Srimad Bhagavatam and Bhagavad Gita, we offer a practical alternative to modern challenges such as Modern education, unemployment, economic instability pollution, climate change, health disorders, disrupt harmony in families, and social unrest. Our guiding principle is to "consume what you produce and produce what you need," fostering a way of life in harmony with nature. Nava Nandagrama aspires to be a replicable model for communities worldwide, demonstrating that a return to nature and dharmic living is both sustainable and fulfilling.

Our Core Principles & Practices

Vedic Gurukulam

Preserving ancient knowledge, our Gurukulam nurtures young minds with the timeless wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita, Srimad Bhagavatam, and other Vedic scriptures. Alongside traditional learning, we teach Sanskrit, essential languages, basic arithmetic, and practical skills, all while instilling strong moral values to build their character and dharmic foundation.

Goshala (Cow Protection)

We uphold the sacred duty of caring for cows, recognizing them as an integral part of a prosperous and spiritually aligned society. As Lord Krishna, the divine protector of cows, lovingly tended to them with deep affection, we follow His example, ensuring their well-being and honoring their vital role in dharmic living.

Natural Farming

Using organic and sustainable methods, we cultivate food without the use of chemical fertilizers or pesticides, ensuring health and harmony with nature.

Eco-Friendly Living

Our homes are built with traditional materials such as mud, stones, wood, bricks, and limestone—with less than 5% usage of cement or iron.

Alternative Energy Practices

We rely on oil lamps instead of electricity and cook using firewood and cow-dung cakes, avoiding the need for gas cylinders.
